The Stakeholder Conference on the EU Strategy for the Alpine Region (EUSALP) will take place in Milan, Italy on 1-2 December 2014. The event will mark the conclusion of the extensive stakeholder consultation on the EUSALP.
An effective and forward-looking EUSALP will bring new impetus for cooperation to the benefit of all involved, unlocking the potential of the Alpine Region and contributing to a harmonious and sustainable development in the area.
The event, organized by the Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the European Commission and Lombardy Region, will take place in Palazzo Lombardia in Milan. The Foreign Ministers of the Countries involved and the Presidents of the Regions of the Alpine area are invited.
The event will mark the conclusion of the extensive stakeholder consultation on the EUSALP, held from 15 July until 15 October 2014. The Conference will promote a debate with the participants on the future challenges that can be tackled following a macro-regional approach. This will support the preparation of the future Communication and Action Plan of the Strategy, which the Commission is due to present in June 2015. The conference will also contribute to raise the awareness in the wider public of preparations for the Strategy.
The programme includes plenary sessions and workshops devoted to the three pillars of the Strategy.
