Great news from PITCH YOUR PROJECT 2019 winner MyCabin

EUSALP PITCH YOUR PROJECT is a competition for young people and young adults between 16 and 25 years. As experts of their living space, the Alpine Region, they are invited to submit their project ideas for a sustainable development of the Alpine Region individually or as a group. The three winners receive 5,000, 3,000 and 2,000 euros from the European Commission to implement their project ideas. Two rounds of the competition have been held so far, in 2018 and 2019.

We are pleased to hear that the competition can give the starting signal for the successful implementation of promising ideas.

MyCabin, which won the first place of "PITCH YOUR PROJECT 2019" and 5,000 euros in an audience vote at the EUSALP Annual Forum in Milan in November 2019, has been selected to participate in a support program for promising start-ups. In times of the Corona crisis, not only meetings on digital channels changed - also for pitch events new ways have to be found. The start-up initiative "Gründermotor" from the Gründer-Hub Pioniergeist and the company Vector Informatik organised for the selection of their next projects on 3 April 2020 a digital pitch event with 26 applicants. MyCabin has been selected for the next round of the Accelerator support program "Gründermotor Meisterklasse", along with ten other projects from a total of over 150 applicants. Together with experienced coaches, MyCabin will work over the next three months to create a solution that is feasible, is accessible to all actors involved - including nature and the environment - and offers real added value.

MyCabin is a student start-up from Lake Constance, which promotes soft tourism and local agriculture in the Alpine region by providing accommodation close to nature. The private offer of existing resources such as meadows and simple shelters enables travellers with rucksack, tent and/or camper to have real experiences in and with nature. Via a website and app, MyCabin offers all users an automated booking with a personal touch, enabling them to experience the most beautiful places in the Alps in a sustainable and natural way.

Coming soon: PITCH YOUR PROJECT 2020

Soon other projects will have the opportunity to present their ideas to an audience of EUSALP experts and win prize money: The third round of PITCH YOUR PROJECT starts soon! The competition is looking for project ideas from young people that deal with the major challenges facing the Alpine Region - climate change, digitalisation, education, the labour market, history and culture, resilience in crises, regional supply and short distances. The five finalists will present their projects at the Annual Forum on 10 and 11 December in Nice.

We will keep you updated - stay tuned!
