5th AG6 Meeting in Carinthia

AG6 members at their 5th meeting on 3-4 July 2018 in Latschach at Lake Faak in Carinthia.

The Action Group 6 (AG6) members met for their 5th meeting on 3-4 July 2018 in Latschach ober dem Faaker See in Carinthia to discuss the next steps regarding the implementation of their work program. Sara Schaar, newly appointed member of the regional government of Carinthia for Environment, Energy and Nature protection, National parks, Women and Generations as well as Society and Integration, welcomed the AG6 members and participated in the afternoon of the first day. During the meeting the members of AG6 adopted the text of a Declaration on sustainable land use and soil conservation, which will be sent to the EUSALP States and Regions for endorsement. Furthermore the current status of the two AG6 governance studies in the fields of water management and of spatial development and quantitative soil protection, which are commissioned by the AG6 co-leader Permanent Secretariat of the Alpine Convention within the framework of the AlpGov project, was presented. In addition, AG6 co-leader Carinthia will elaborate a financing study and a consecutive financing workshop for Action Groups 6-7-8-9. The meeting was concluded with an excursion to the organic hay-milk cooperative cheese factory Kaslab’n Nockberge in Radenthein. The factory has won the second place at the architectural competition “Constructive Alps” of the Alpine Convention in 2017.
