Building on Experience – Cooperation towards 2020

On 21 and 22 October 2014 over 400 participants came together for the Alpine Space 2020 Conference.

Over the past 15 years, more than a thousand project partners have collaborated on bringing common solutions in order to jointly tackle Alpine challenges. The Alpine Space Programme has now entered a new chapter of cooperation and will build on this common experience to pave the way to Europe 2020. Marking the transition between two programming periods, the Alpine Space 2020 Conference will present the results achieved over the past seven years, and prepare the ground for future cooperation projects on sustainable regional development. This occasion will bring together current and potential project partners as well as stakeholders and policy-makers of the area. Participants will be encouraged to network and actively contribute to discussions, especially on day 1. The hot topic on the EU agenda, the EU Strategy for the Alpine Region, will be discussed in relation to the Programme.
