Objectives: 

1. To develop, maintain and promote a holistic approach to interoperability in the EU in order to eliminate fragmentation;

2. To facilitate efficient and effective electronic cross-border or cross-sector interaction among European public administrations and between European public administrations and companies and citizens and to contribute to the development of a more effective, simplified and user-friendly e-administration at the national, regional and local levels of public administration;

3. Identify, create and implement interoperability solutions that support EU policies and activities;

4. Facilitate the re-use of interoperability solutions by European public administrations.
