Alpine Macroregion Strategy - Stakeholder Conference

This volume constitutes the transcript of the Alpine Macroregion Strategy - Stakeholder Conference. The event was organized by the European Commission, the Italian Presidency of the European Union Council, and the Lombardy Region. Mrs. Corina Creţu, European Commissioner for Regional Policy, the Foreign Ministries of the involved Countries, and the Presidents of the Alpine Regions took part in the Conference and shared objectives, common projects, and actions to be jointly implemented in the near future.

The technical session of the Conference was dedicated to providing commentary on the outcomes of the last consultation which had been launched in the previous months. The commentary was organized in to three sessions:

  1. supporting growth and innovation to promote the Alpine Region's competitiveness, prosperity and cohesion
  2. connecting the Alpine Region to guarantee its residents transport and digital accessibility
  3. preserving the environment and promoting the sustainable management of the Region’s natural and cultural resources
