From 7 to 11 March 2022, the largest event dedicated to the EU's Macroregional Strategies was held in Brussels – physically and online – as an occasion of meeting between their representatives and the European institutions.
The three key themes of the 2022 edition have been: youth, the European Green Deal and social innovation, under the motto of “Engage, Empower, Evolve”.
Within the busy agenda of the event, the EUSALP Action Groups organized and participated in a series of meetings that were an opportunity for discussion on the opportunities and possible innovative solutions for the Alpine Area.
Below is a brief overview of the moments that saw them as protagonists.
The session of the AG9 took place on 7 March, with a significant focus on the implementation of the European Green Deal and on the possibilities offered by policies and financing instruments for the challenges on climate and environment.
On 8 March, AG2 was the protagonist with a session dedicated to the meeting between project leaders for a profitable exchange aimed at finding potential new partners and funding to make EUSALP an incubator for European projects (find the specific press release bellow). Afterwards, AG4 addressed the issue of sustainable mobility dedicated to young people, with proposals and solutions aimed at overcoming today's obstacles.
On 10 March, AG5 dealt with the theme of Smart Villages, driving a discussion on how Macro-regional Strategies can support the challenges of rural communities. AG1, on the other hand, addressed the issues of green transition and inclusive sustainability, through cross-macro-regional smart specialization.
The EU MRS Week was an important and challenging moment of exchange, to grasp and set up new strategies and opportunities for a sustainable, inclusive, and innovative future.
