AG6 Success Story
Alpine Forst: rooted in resilience TF-MFSUT
Forests are more than landscapes, they’re livelihoods, habitats, and buffers against a changing climate. But as crises mount, so do the pressures. Timber demand, biodiversity, fire risk, and policy gaps all pull in different directions.
In response, forest and timber experts joined forces, not just to manage conflict, but to align around shared action. A Task Force for Multifunctional Forests and Sustainable Use of Timber (TF-MFSUT) was established Their goal: make Alpine forests truly multifunctional. That means supporting local economies while strengthening ecological resilience.
Through joint technical work, public statements, policy proposals, and cross-border projects, this collaboration is building momentum. It connects forest owners, planners, NGOs, youth groups, and policymakers, turning fragmented efforts into a common voice. Alpine forests face complex challenges. But through cooperation, they're becoming one of the region’s strongest assets for climate adaptation, sustainable growth, and long-term stability.
