The 8th meeting of the EUSALP Action Group 9 took place in Bergamo, back to back with the 3rd EUSALP Energy Conference. During the meeting, past and future activities and projects of the group were discussed, as well as the internal organisation of the Action Group and its external impact.
New members (Region Sud, FR, represented by Sandrine Vogel) and observers (CIPRA International; Bolzano Chamber of Commerce, IT, represented by Monika Frenes) were introduced. The Province of Lower Austria (Peter Obricht & Tino Blondiau) presented its work on "Smart villages", while the research institute EURAC (Adriano Bisello) illustrated the interim results of the Energy Survey 2019. The European Commission, in the person of Giacomo Luciani (DG Regio), also took part in the meeting.
The group received a brief presentation of the forthcoming French EUSALP Presidency in 2020 and its strategic direction. The Presidency It will be officially launched in Lyon on 4-5 February 2020. It is already clear today, that in the course of the French Presidency the next EUSALP Energy Conference will be organised in autumn 2020 at the foot of Mont Blanc in Chamonix.
