In 2023 Switzerland holds the presidency of the European Union's macro-regional strategy for the Alpine region (SUERA - EUSALP). The cantons and the Confederation hold the presidency together.

The Swiss presidency of EUSALP, is inviting EUSALP members and stakeholders to the first international conference on the "Circular Economy" on 30 and 31 March 2023 in Fribourg.

The aim of the circular economy is to use raw materials efficiently and for as long as possible. This avoids the scarcity of raw materials and reduces pollutant emissions and waste quantities. On the other hand, it opens up possibilities for new and innovative value chains.

The EUSALP conference aims to demonstrate regional circular economy approaches in European Alpine regions. Based on scientific observations and concrete examples of projects from the agriculture, food industry and construction sectors, the conference will look at the political framework conditions for a successful circular economy in the future.

In order to keep products and materials in the loop, all actors need to rethink the way they do things. Be part of this reflection and attend the conference on "Circular Economy" in Fribourg.
