Depopulation of mountain areas is a worrying trend, not only from a social and cultural point of view, but also for the heavy consequences it can bring in terms of competitiveness for our economic and territorial systems. The goal of the event is to host an open and public debate, co-created with young citizens, about the state of the art of the different policies implemented by local governments to face this trend and to explore possible common new solutions at macroregional level. The conference aims to represent an opportunity to design concrete policy orientations to enhance the youth leadership and accountability as a driver for competitiveness and as a key factor to struggle the depopulation of the Alpine area.
The conference is jointly organised by Eusalp Action Group 2, the Youth Council and Lombardy Region.
