Final Conference of ARPAF CrossBorder

9th Dec 2019

At the 3rd EUSALP Annual Forum, the project partners SAB (EUSALP AG5 Co-Leader), CIPRA International, and Tyrol (EUSALP AG4 Co-Leader) held the final conference of CrossBorder. The conference was held in an interactive format and, after two years of working towards improving cross-border mobility in the Alpine Region, all project results were synthesized and discussed at this workshop.
Together with stakeholders from Alpine cross-border commuting hotspots – Esther Jennings (Euregio Inntal) from the hotspot Kufstein–Rosenheim along the Bavarian-Tyrolean border and Jaques Fleurey from the hotspot Jurassic Arc along the French-Swiss border – as well as representatives Gilles Chomat from the Swiss Federal Office for Spatial Development, Olivier Baudelet from the European Commission’s DG REGIO, Olivier Margouet from AG4 Co-Leader Région Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and other interested stakeholders, the results and following political recommendations of CrossBorder were discussed and a path for capitalizing on those results in the future was set out. Not least because the latest developments in EU funds programming seem to point in the right direction, the goal of promoting cross-border mobility in the Alpine Region remains a top priority for sustainable regional development.
