Results of the Alpine Forum on Smart Industry

On September 12th Rovereto held the Alpine Forum on Smart Industry. The event has was organized by HIT-Hub Innovation Trentino and promoted by EUSALP, in which HIT coordinates the Digital Industry subgroup within Action Group 2, which aims at increasing the economic potential of strategic sectors.

The meeting has been an opportunity for discussion between companies and innovation experts to trace the future lines together of action on digital transformation and deepening the strategies put in place for the development of small and medium enterprises in the Alpine area, in particular in the Trentino area.

Alpine Forum on Smart Industry: driving digital transformation of SMEs in the Alpine Space

Sept. 12th – Rovereto (Italy)

Hub Innovazione Trentino (HIT) in collaboration with Digital Innovation Hub Trentino Alto-Adige and Région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes hosted the Alpine Forum on Smart Industry on September 12th in Rovereto. The event was organized within the EUSALP Action Group 2 where the Autonomous Province of Trento with Hub Innovazione Trentino coordinates the Digital Industry subgroup, which aims at increasing the economic potential of strategic sectors and fosters the adoption of 4.0 technologies enabling the digital transformation of SMEs.

The Forum brought to the attention of 150 participants – mostly companies and innovators - topics of specific interest to companies and intermediaries of innovation in the Alpine area, focusing on the opportunities that the digital transformation can bring to small and medium enterprises of the Alpine region and on the specificities and needs of the area.

Luca Mion - Head of Innovation and Technology Transfer at HIT- introduced the EUSALP strategy and the opportunities for the digital development in the Alpine region: “Companies can find valuable support from regional Digital Innovation Hubs, to better understand the opportunities for digital transformation and to receive personalized advice on how to improve operations and efficiency.
In Trentino, the Digital Innovation Hub is managed by Confindustria Trento with Hub Innovazione Trentino”.

Presentations included key results from the Alpine Space project “Smart Space” and the EU programme “Digital Europe” giving insights to enterprises and Digital Innovation Hubs about digital solutions and finance opportunities. Furthermore, five testimonial entrepreneurs described their experience with digitalization as enablers and adopters in different sectors such as manufacturing and agrifood.
