Round Table on Smart Villages and Digital connectivity in the Alps

The Round Table on Smart Villages and Digital Connectivity in the Alps held on 8th June 2018 in Bard (Aosta Valley).

The principal arguments of the conference were the Smart Villages approach to fight the depopulation of the rural areas and the importance of broadband connectivity as essential requirement to provide digital services.

The event was part of the conferences series organised by the Transborder centre on Tourism and Mountain Economies (TEM), aiming at gathering together scientists coming from different fields such as economics, marketing,business administration and law.

The speakers were:

Claudio Piga - Professor of Economics at Keele University

Alberto Bramanti - Associate Professor of Regional Economics at Bocconi University

Darja Kukovič - Project Assistant at University of Maribor and ERDF Lead Partner of Smart Villages Alpine Space Programme project

Davide Calonico - President of TOP-IX Consortium and First Researcher at Italian national metrology institute (INRIM)

Carlo Alberto Carnevale Maffè - Associate Professor of Practice Strategy and Entrepreneurship at SDA Bocconi School of Management
