Smart Villages - Using the potential of digitization in Alpine villages
7th May 2021

Digital technologies are developing very fast. And they have a big potential for rural areas in
the alpine arch. Digitalization helps a lot to overcome the natural handicaps of mountain and
rural areas, to develop new business models and to strengthen the resilience of the
mountain and rural villages. The goal of this small brochure is to motivate and enable actors
on different levels to initiate a transformation into a smart village or smart region.
